Ro Underwood is an actor who works in film, television, plays, new media, commercials, and print. Originally a professional educator, her dedication and discipline from the love of the written word transitioned to working on her craft by training with legendary teachers Vera Katz of Howard University and Susan Batson in New York. Due to her statuesque physique, physically imposing size, husky yet smooth voice, and the intensity she brings to her characters, Ro is often cast as the Powerful, Motherly, Anti-heroes, Villains, and Outsiders on screen. She relishes the frequent call to play roles that have a questionable moral compass and a tendency to be dangerous. She also loves the opportunity to stretch herself by playing off type characters, comedy, and the classic heightened roles of writers to continue growing as an artist.
Ro has appeared in the TV hits, Power Book III Raising Kanan, New Amsterdam, and The Good Lord, as well as the movie, The Jury. Her current projects include Amazon TV Series, "Sprung” and the Netflix Series “Inventing Anna”.
